Approach

Uniquely designed to incorporate a family’s desire for style and function. This home uses natural light and fluid lines to connect indoor and outdoor spaces. Energy and movement are the guiding principles for the design. Sensitivity to client aspirations, in conjunction with guidance on the best and most appropriate design outcomes was central to the creative process.

Outcome

Located in a quiet suburban street with a mix of styles from various periods, this architectural design sits comfortably within its context. The aspirations of its owner were central to the expression of the built form of this house, and as such, is the purest form of public display of private / personal values and aspirations. It is to these things that the design responds in the context of its local situation.

Experience

Creative manoeuvring of space was integral to how the design is arranged in plan. Extension of the roof far beyond the walls, floating above the balcony, draws space in from beyond its domain. Inside the space, this design element flows through a series of rooms with freshness and light. The client believed in achieving the highest quality outcome and as such, invested in construction and finishes of the highest quality.
